SILVIS, Ill. - The Chicago State men's golf team wrapped up competition at the WIU Intercollegiate, a two-day event hosted by Western Illinois University at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. The Cougars finished
sixth out of seven teams with a total score of +64, battling through a strong field that featured several nationally ranked individuals and top regional programs.
Chicago State's top finisher was
Kaleb Lambert, who posted rounds of +7 and E to finish T17 at +11. His even-par second round was one of the strongest Cougar performances of the tournament.
Just behind him,
Jose Monge delivered a steady week, finishing T22 at +13 after rounds of +8 and +3.
Mason Fears secured a 30th-place finish at +17, recording rounds of +7 and +4.
Three additional Cougars rounded out the team scoring:
Chicago State also had another individual in the field:
- Theo Hustler, who placed 46th at +32 with rounds of +13 and +12.
The tournament title went to Miles Bollinger of Indian Hills CC at –6, underscoring the competitive environment throughout the event.
The Cougars return to action April 12–13 when they travel to Ohio for the Wright State Invitational, continuing their preparation for the stretch run of the spring season.
