CHICAGO, Ill. – Chicago State University Athletics has announced the hiring of
Patrell Green as the program's new Assistant Golf Coach, Director of Golf Jean Macon announced Tuesday.
Green joins the Cougar coaching staff as a PGA Affiliate Program Candidate, bringing a passion for athlete development, mentorship and leadership. His diverse background in coaching and player development will support the continued growth of Chicago State's golf program while helping student-athletes excel both on and off the course.
Over the past several years, Green has built a reputation as an accomplished coach and mentor throughout the Chicagoland area. Most recently, he spent two seasons on the coaching staff at Simeon High School, serving as the head coach of the junior varsity team. In his first season leading the program, Green guided the Simeon to a City Championship, highlighting his ability to develop talent and build a winning culture.
Prior to joining Simeon, Green served as a trainer at Shoot 360 Naperville, where he developed individualized training plans, taught fundamental skills and worked closely with athletes to maximize their potential. He also served as a mentor with Acclivus, helping high school students grow through athletics while emphasizing academic success, leadership and personal development.
Green is also the founder and head trainer of Astronomical Athlete, where he has worked with youth athletes since 2021, organizing individual and group training sessions while collaborating with local schools and community organizations. Earlier in his career, he served as head trainer at Ground Zero Training, helping prepare collegiate and high school athletes through skill development, camps and clinics.
As a PGA Affiliate Program Candidate, Green is actively pursuing his professional development through the PGA of America and is committed to expanding his expertise while helping Chicago State's student-athletes reach their full potential.
Green joins a Chicago State golf program led by Director of Golf Jean Macon as the Cougars continue building a culture of excellence and competitive success.
