CHICAGO, Ill. – Chicago State University Director of Golf Jean Macon, Assistant Golf Coach
Patrell Green and golf student-athlete Luca Alderson helped introduce Chicago area youth to the game as part of the 2026 Bank of America Golf With Us Clinic on Monday, Aug. 17, at Harborside International Golf Center.
Macon hosted the Chicago clinic as part of Bank of America's Golf With Us initiative, which is designed to expand access to golf and provide young people with opportunities to learn and experience the game in an engaging and welcoming environment.
Green and Alderson assisted Macon throughout the clinic, working directly with participants and helping provide hands-on instruction in golf fundamentals and skill development. Their involvement gave Chicago State Golf an opportunity to share its knowledge of the game while connecting with young golfers from across the Chicago community.
The clinic brought together Bank of America, PGA of America, Octagon and Chicago State Golf in support of efforts to introduce the next generation of players to the sport. Casey Rayburn of PGA of America helped facilitate the clinic partnership, while Caley Beacham of Octagon oversaw clinic operations for Bank of America.
For Macon, hosting the clinic represented another opportunity to support the growth of golf in Chicago and create pathways for young people to experience a sport that can provide lifelong opportunities both on and off the course.
Green, who recently joined the Chicago State coaching staff, brings an extensive background in athlete development, coaching and mentorship. His experience working with young athletes throughout the Chicagoland area made the Golf With Us Clinic a natural extension of his work in the community.
Alderson's participation also provided a valuable student-athlete perspective, allowing clinic participants to learn alongside a collegiate golfer while demonstrating Chicago State Athletics' emphasis on community engagement and giving back.
As Director of Golf at Chicago State, Macon oversees the Cougars' men's and women's golf programs. Together, Macon, Green and Chicago State's student-athletes continue to emphasize development, mentorship and community involvement as important components of the Cougar golf program.
The Aug. 17 clinic at Harborside International Golf Center was part of Bank of America's broader Golf With Us programming, which aims to make golf more accessible and provide young people with opportunities to learn, play and remain involved in the sport.
Through opportunities such as the Bank of America Golf With Us Clinic, Chicago State Golf continues to grow the game while strengthening the University's connection with youth and families throughout the Chicago community.
