ELLICOTT CITY, Md. - The Chicago State men's golf team wrapped up its appearance at the 2026 NEC Men's Golf Championship on Sunday, securing a ninth place finish in the 12-team field at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, Maryland. The Cougars posted a three round total of +48, turning in rounds of +10, +16, and +22 across the three day event.
Kaleb Lambert led Chicago State with an impressive T-4 finish at +3, carding rounds of 69 (-2), 75 (+4), and 72 (+1). His performance marked one of the top individual showings in program history at the NEC Championship.
Jayden Brar added a strong effort with a T-23 finish at +10, recording rounds of 74 (+3), 73 (+2), and 76 (+5).
Jose Monge followed with a T-39 finish at +15, posting rounds of 76 (+5), 73 (+2), and 79 (+8).
Mason Fears finished tied for 50th at +24, turning in rounds of 75 (+4), 79 (+8), and 83 (+12).
Sahil Nathoo completed the Cougar lineup, finishing T-58 after rounds of 79 (+7), SUB, and 79 (+8).
Marcus Freeman III also represented Chicago State in the championship, recording a +16 in Saturday's second round as part of his tournament appearance.
Chicago State now shifts its focus to offseason development as it prepares for the 2026–27 campaign, building on a championship performance that showcased the program's continued growth and competitive depth.
