Chicago–Chicago State men's tennis coach
Jack Barton released the team's 2021 schedule today. The Cougars are scheduled to start the season Feb. 11 at Western Michigan in Kalamazoo. CSU will then play five of its next six matches at home before eight consecutive road matches, including Western Athletic Conference matches against Grand Canyon University, Seattle University, UTRGV and New Mexico State. The Cougars will conclude the regular season with three of four matches at home while the Western Athletic Conference Tournament is scheduled for April 30-May 2 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. "Last year we had four new guys who experienced their first year in Division I and they learned a lot about what it takes to be successful at this level," Barton said. "When the season was cut short last year, we had time to reflect on areas we need to improve and areas we need to enhance both as individuals and as a team. Accountability will be the main thing we focus on this year. We will be responsible for our actions and own the results they produce as individuals and as a team. This, combined with a hard work ethic, will help us build the culture we need to be successful this season and seasons to come."
