Chicago– Coreyoun Rushin (Chicago, IL/Westinghouse College Prep), a junior transfer from Idaho State, will be eligible to play immediately based on an NCAA Division I Council vote today which grants a blanket waiver to allow all Division I transfers to play this year.
"It's great to have him eligible to play," head coach
Lance Irvin said. "He understands the game and knows how to play. He brings experience. He brings leadership and has showed that in practice. He brings toughness, and that's something we need. I'm happy to have him out there. Having another guy who understands what needs to be done will be helpful for us this year."
Rushin, a 2017
Chicago Sun-Times All-State, Chicago Public League All-City and Red-West All-Conference performer, transferred to Chicago State from Idaho State. With the Bengals, he appeared in 29 games as a sophomore, starting eight, averaging 3.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in 19.3 minutes per game.
The 6-foot-6, forward started his collegiate career at the College of Southern Idaho, scoring 9.5 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game and shooting 63.5 percent from the field. Rushin was named honorable mention all-conference.
