CHICAGO, Ill. — Congratulations to the Chicago State University Men's Basketball team, which has secured the No. 8 seed in the 2026 Northeast Conference (NEC) Men's Basketball Tournament after a determined and competitive regular season. With the bracket finalized, the Cougars advance to the quarterfinals and prepare for a high-stakes postseason matchup.

Chicago State will face the tournament's No. 1 seed, the LIU Sharks, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, with tip-off scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CST at the Steinberg Wellness Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Cougars enter the NEC Tournament looking to carry their momentum into the postseason and challenge the conference's top seed in a game that will determine who moves on to championship weekend. The winner of the quarterfinal matchup will advance to the NEC semifinals on Saturday, March 7.

Chicago State continues to build excitement around its postseason journey as the program looks to make a statement in its first NEC Tournament appearance under Head Men's Basketball Coach Landon Bussie.

"I'm incredibly proud of our guys for the way they battled all season," said Head Coach Landon Bussie. "Earning a spot in the NEC Tournament is a testament to their resilience, their growth, and their commitment to representing Chicago State the right way. We know LIU is a tough opponent, but our team is prepared, focused, and excited for the opportunity ahead."
