CHICAGO – Chicago State continues its four-game homestand with a three-game weekend series versus Western Athletic Conference foe Northern Colorado at Cougar Stadium. The first two games of the series will take place tomorrow and Saturday with a start time of 3 p.m. followed by the finale being held on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m.

Chicago State comes into the UNC series sporting a season record of 7-31 after dropping a pair of non-conference contests earlier this week at Purdue (8-1) on Tuesday and at home to in-state rival Bradley (8-3). The Green and White is led offensively by junior infielder Tyler Lowe (Northville, Mich./Northville) as he is currently batting .343 with team highs of 49 hits, 24 runs batted in, 19 runs scored and five home runs on the year. Senior outfielder Matt Paciello (Wellington, Fla./Park Vista) is hitting .331 and leads CSU in doubles with eight.

On the mound, freshman right hander Dylan Cumming (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc) leads the Cougars in innings pitched (53) and strikeouts (45), while senior righty Robert Gutierrez (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) has posted a team-best 3-1 record over 19 appearances this season.

Northern Colorado brings a 22-19 season record to the Windy City, including a 5-10 conference mark, after coming off the heels of a 7-0 win over Metro State on Tuesday which concluded a five-game homestand.

Senior infielder Dean Lawson is recording a team-best .336 batting average for the Bears, while sophomore infielder Matt Burkhart leads the Bears with 13 doubles, six home runs and three triples on the year. UNC's pitching staff is paced by redshirt senior right handers Aaron Hamilton (4-3, 46 strikeouts, 47 innings thrown) and Connor Leedholm (2-2, WAC-leading nine saves).

CSU opens a six-game road swing on Tuesday afternoon in Evanston, Ill., with a mid-week contest against Northwestern at Rocky Miller Park beginning at 3:30 p.m.
