CSU Women’s Soccer Falls to UT Rio Grande Valley in Road Finale

EDINBURG, Texas – The Chicago State women's soccer team fell to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, 6-0, in a Western Athletic Conference battle and its final road contest of the season here today at the UTRGV Soccer Complex.
 
The Vaqueros took a 3-0 lead in the first half of play after scoring goals in the 14th, 22nd and 24th minutes before intermission. Three additional goals came through for the home team in the 64th, 83rd and 87th minutes of the second half to end the scoring.
 
Sophomore Taylor Rankin (Dearborn, Mich./Edsel Ford) recorded three shot attempts with two chances on goal to lead CSU, while junior goalkeeper Audra Wisehart (Sandusky, Ohio/Huron) produced a game-high 14 saves.
 
The Green and White conclude their regular season slate on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Ray and Joan Kroc Stadium with Senior Day against WAC foe UMKC with a start time of 1 p.m. The Cougars will honor their senior class in a special ceremony prior to the start of the game.
