Women’s Soccer Drops 6-1 Decision at UIC

CHICAGO – The Chicago State women's soccer team dropped a 6-1 decision this afternoon to host UIC at Flames Field.
 
The home team scored three goals between the sixth and 36th minutes to take a 3-0 advantage into halftime.
 
After the Flames (2-6-2) started the second half with a tally in the 50th minute, freshman Taylor Rankin (Dearborn, Mich./Ford) put the Green and White on the board with her second goal of the season after taking a pass from fellow freshman Ashley Hamrick (Decatur, Ind./Bellmont) on the right side and broke down the defense before scoring.
 
UIC added a pair of goals in the 60th and 85th minutes for the final margin.
 
Junior Gabby Klemp (Muskegon, Mich./Reeths-Puffer) posted a season-best 10 saves in goal for the Cougars (1-7).
 
CSU concludes its road swing on Friday night at Loyola in an ESPN3 live broadcast with the opening kickoff set for 7 p.m.
