CHICAGO, Ill. - The Chicago State volleyball program has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for their work in the classroom during the 2025-26 campaign.
The award, which debuted during the 1992-93 academic year, honors both collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom. The requirement for the award is a team maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
The Cougars were one of six Northeast Conference schools to earn the honor. Since the 2000-01 season, the number of teams receiving the award across all levels has increased every year but one.
Chicago State opens the 2026 season on Aug. 28 vs. Seattle University at the Seattle U tournament.
