RALEIGH, N.C. - The Chicago State track and field continued competition the final day of the 2026 Raleigh Relays with strong showing all around in a huge range of competition.
Makiyah Brewton highlighted the early field events for the Cougars in the women's long jump, recording a jump of 5.88 meters to place ninth overall. Lena Cleveland added a 34th-place finish with a mark of 5.32 meters, while Phebe Thompson followed closely in 37th with a jump of 5.29 meters.
On the track, the women's 4x100-meter relay team of Brewton, Jaya Harrigan, Queanna Taylor and Thompson posted a time of 48.21 to finish 23rd. The men's 4x100-meter relay squad of Xavier Beatty, Faustin Kaseba, Skylar McGhee, and Kai Sheridan placed 21st with a time of 42.54.
In the women's 400-meter hurdles, Katherine Thornton crossed the line in 1:05.47 to place 51st. The Cougars saw a strong showing on the men's side of the event as Nasir Ali finished 12th with a time of 53.39, while Michael Rabogo recorded a time of 55.19 to place 26th.
Chicago State also turned in solid performances in the men's long jump. Skylar McGhee placed 19th with a jump of 6.84 meters, while Beatty followed closely in 23rd with a mark of 6.81 meters.
The meet concluded for the Cougars on the track in the men's 200 meters where Sheridan posted a time of 22.66 to place 87th overall.
