LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Chicago State men's track & field opened competition at the UL Lenny Lyles Indoor Meet with strong performances across a handful of event between sprints, relays, and field events. The Cougars' top finish of the day came in the men's Distance Medley Relay, where Chicago State placed second overall with a time of 10:42.76, showcasing depth and teamwork on the track.
In the sprints, Nasir Ali led the way with a sixth-place finish in the men's 400 meters, clocking 49.42, while Clifton Martin added a 15th-place result in the same event. Chicago State also saw multiple competitors in the men's 200 meters, highlighted by Eric Sanchez, who placed 22nd in a deep C Division field.
In the field events, the Cougars were represented in the men's long jump, where Xavier Beatty recorded a mark of 6.93 meters to finish 16th, followed closely by Eric Sanchez, who placed 19th with a jump of 6.81 meters.
