NORTH EAST, Pa. - The Chicago State men's golf team opened its 2025 season at the Mercyhurst Fall Invitational, gaining valuable early-season experience against a competitive field. The Cougars posted a three-round team score of 930, showing steady play and improvement across the lineup.
Sahil Nathoo led the way with an impressive final-round 71, closing his tournament at 223 and earning a spot inside the top-20 individually.
Jose Monge followed closely behind at 235, while
Kevin Hikichi turned in consistent rounds of 79 across all three days to finish at 237. Rounding out the Cougar lineup,
Tommy Castellanos recorded a 240, and
Marcus Freeman III battled through tough conditions to post a 246.
The Invitational provided an important opportunity for the young squad to compete, build chemistry, and set a foundation for the season ahead. With Nathoo's strong finish and balanced contributions throughout the lineup, Chicago State takes momentum into its upcoming tournaments.
