LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Chicago State track and field teams closed out the indoor track and field slate at the HBCU National Championship on Saturday. The Cougars finished in third place on both sides with Howard winning the meet on both sides.
Raymond Oriakhi was a highlight of a small contingent on the men's side as he posted a new PR in the 60M hurdles with a time of 7.87 to win the event. Freshman Skylar McGhee took runner up honors in the long jump with a jump of 6.74m while Nikai McNee placed third in the triple jump with a jump of 14.22m
On the women's side, Lena Cleveland took third place in the long jump with a jump of 5.22m. In the 400m, the Cougars were led by Rachel Whyte who placed fourth with a time of 56.8. Whyte also placed fourth in the 200m with at time of 25.07 while teammate Latonia Johnson placed fifth with a 25.58 which is also a new PR. In a loaded field in the 60m dash Whyte placed seventh with a time of 7.71.

The Cougars will now turn their attention to the outdoor season which begins at the Raleigh Relays March 27-28.
