YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- The Chicago State Cougars open the Mid Major Invite and saw some personal bests highlighted by a win in the women's 500m heat from freshman Zearra Milburn who ran a 1:19.57.
The Cougars also received top finished in the 500m on the men's side as Trevon Prince and Kai Sheridan finished in second and third place respectfully, with times of 1:04.21 and 1:07.29. Sheridans time as a new PR.
The field events kicked off the meet and Chicago State had two place in the top -15 in the long jump on the women's side. Freshman Lena Cleveland jumped 5.29m while classmate Myshell Hurse set a new PR with a jump of 5.20m. The men also had two place in the top-10 in the long jump led by a jump of 7.10m by Skylar McGee while Eric Sanchez jumped 6.85m
Karly Klaer threw a 11.16m in the weight throw which was good for 16th place.

The Cougars will continue action at the Mid Major Invite on Saturday with events getting underway at 7 am.
