Chicago, Ill. – Chicago State junior guard
Doyel Cockrill III has been honored as a
NEC Prime Performer following his standout effort in the Cougars' 84-75 win at Loyola Chicago on Sunday evening.
Cockrill delivered a
game- and season-high 22 points, providing the offensive spark that fueled the victory. He was nearly automatic at the free-throw line, converting
12-of-14 attempts from the charity stripe. In addition to his scoring, Cockrill contributed across the stat sheet with
four rebounds, three assists, and a steal, showcasing his all-around impact on the floor.
The recognition underscores Cockrill's growing role as a key playmaker for Chicago State, as his consistency and leadership continue to drive the Cougars in NEC competition.
The Cougars return to action on December 16, 2025 as they travel to face Bowling Green with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m.
