CHICAGO, Ill. - The NEC has announced their postseason awards for the 2025 women's soccer season. Freshman goalkeeper
Aviana Gutierrez was voted to the NEC All-Rookie Team for 2025. Voted upon by the conference's head coaches, Gutierrez earns her first postseason award of her career.
Gutierrez started and played in all 19 of Chicago State's regular season games. She logged 1,710 minutes, the most possible for a 19 game season. She posted a 5-9-5 record for the Cougars, and helped lead the team to their best finish in program history. Five wins is also the most by a Chicago State goalkeeper in a single season. She logged 105 total saves in 2025 and had a save percentage of 76.1% in her first season. Gutierrez also earned three shutouts which included two wins and one draw. Gutierrez closes an outstanding freshman season after being named an NEC Primer Performer two time, Rookie of the Week two times, and Defensive Player of the week one time.
