Tankersley Reaches 1,000 Career Points in Loss to Minnesota

CHICAGO, Ill. (November 19, 2025) — Senior guard Marcus Tankersley reached a major career milestone Tuesday night, scoring his 1,000th career point in the matchup against Minnesota.

Tankersley, a 6-foot-5 guard from Chattanooga, Tenn., finished with 16 points in 34 minutes of play, shooting 6-of-14 from the field and 4-of-6 from the free throw line. His performance helped anchor the team's effort, adding 2 assists, 1 steal, and steady leadership on the court.

The milestone basket came in the second half, marking the culmination of four years of consistent scoring and impact for the program. Tankersley has been a reliable presence since arriving from Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, steadily climbing the scoring charts while contributing across the stat sheet.

Head Coach Landon Bussie praised Tankersley's achievement:
"Marcus embodies what it means to be a leader in this program. Reaching 1,000 points is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and ability to perform in big moments. We're proud of him and excited to see what he continues to accomplish this season."

Tankersley becomes the latest player in program history to join the 1,000-point club, a prestigious benchmark that highlights both talent and longevity.

The senior guard will look to build on this milestone as the team continues its non-conference slate before heading into league play.
