Chicago State Volleyball Releases 2021 Schedule

Cougars will host early-September tournament in Chicago

CHICAGO — Chicago State head volleyball coach Tanio Trifonov has announced his team's schedule for the 2021 season, his second season as head coach.

"We are very excited about the schedule that we put together for our young group, as we are looking to vastly improve the competitiveness of our volleyball program," Trifonov said. "Our opening weekend at EIU will be a true indication of where we are as a nucleus. In the second weekend, we will be able to enjoy the comforts of home as we host the Windy City Classic.

"We don't have to go far from campus to find quality competition in the third week of our schedule, as we will make the short trip to UIC to take on Eastern Michigan, Belmont and the host UIC. Our last non-conference tournament at University of Indiana featuring a Big Ten host, Ole Miss from the SEC and perennial SWAC contender Alabama A&M should be a fun one and a final test before we begin conference play. I think it is a balanced schedule that will challenge us early on and prepare us for a very competitive WAC slate."
