U-20 Jamaican Youth National Team Captain Signs with Chicago State Men’s Soccer

Cal-Wayne Allen joins Cougars' incoming class

CHICAGO — Chicago State head men's soccer coach Trevor Banks has announced the signing of Cal-Wayne Allen, the newest addition to the Cougars' incoming recruiting class.

"Cal-Wayne is a special player, and we are excited he is joining us for this journey," Banks said. "I've known about Cal even before I stepped foot here on campus due to my relationship Jamaican Football Federation and his current coach, Brocklon Chatman. These guys have done an amazing job developing Cal, which allows Chicago State men's soccer to add a great asset to the already stellar group we have coming in this fall. We're looking forward to getting Cal on campus this fall."

Allen hails from Montego Bay, Jamaica and attended Jamaica College. He has represented his country with the under-15, under-17 and under-20 National Teams, serving as captain.

Prior to joining the Cougars, Allen joined the men's soccer program at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri, where he earned a second-team all-conference selection in 2019. Allen also appeared on the college's Dean's List.

"I chose Chicago State due to the idea of playing for a new program, and in the recruitment process Coach Banks sold me on something new and an opportunity to make history," Allen said. "With the vision Coach Banks presented, it all made too much sense to pass on this opportunity. I'm looking forward to working with Coach Banks the staff as well as the rest of the team this fall."
