CSU Men’s Golf Finishes Seventh at 2018 WAC Championship

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Chicago State finished in seventh place with a 54-hole score of 956 (313-309-334) at the Western Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship, held here at the Prairie Dunes Country Club.
 
The Cougars were led by junior Austin Dobrescu (Brandon, Canada/Vincent Massey) as he produced a score of 230 (75-76-79) to place in a tie for 26th with Utah Valley's Gabe Lysen.
 
Senior Cameron Boomer (Glasgow, Scotland/Calderglen) took 32nd place after carding a score of 243 (78-74-90) followed by junior Ram Roque (Valencia City, Bukidnon, Philippines/Bukidnon Faith Christian School) shooting a 247 (86-77-84) to capture 33rd place.
 
Junior Eduardo Falcon (Sabinas, Mexico/St. Anthony) placed 34th after recording a 248 (79-82-87) and fellow junior Adrian Torres (Madrid, Spain/I.E.S. Gustavo Adolfo Becquer) tallied a score of 250 (80-86-84) to finish 35th.
 
UMKC shot a score of 865 (284-287-294) to win the team title by edging second-place Grand Canyon by four strokes and was led by individual medalist McCain Schellhardt's one-over par score of 211 (73-67-71).
 
CSU concludes its season on May 11-13 with the PGA Minority Championships in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
