CSU Finishes Off WAC Road Swing Tonight at Grand Canyon

PHOENIX – The Chicago State men's basketball team finished off its weekend Western Athletic Conference road swing tonight after falling to host Grand Canyon by a score of 89-55 at GCU Arena.
 
Senior Glen Burns (West Memphis, Ark./West Memphis Christian) led CSU with 12 points and drained all four of his attempts from the free throw line, while fellow senior Deionte Simmons (Detroit, Mich./Lewisville (Texas)) added nine points and redshirt freshman Travon Bell (Chicago, Ill./Mather) contributed eight points. Junior Fred Sims, Jr. (Chicago, Ill./North Lawndale) tied for game-high honors with eight rebounds.
 
GCU saw three of its players score in double figures on the night, led by Joshua Braun's game-high 14 points.
 
Chicago State returns to the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center for a weekend homestand next week beginning on Feb. 8 against Utah Valley with a start time of 7:05 p.m.
