CHICAGO - 

OPENING TIP – The Chicago State men's basketball team heads to downstate Macomb tomorrow afternoon to take on host and in-state rival Western Illinois in the final game of the inaugural Summit League/WAC Challenge at Western Hall with the opening tip set for 2 p.m.

SCOUTING CSU – CSU comes into its second game of the week with a season record of 3-10 after dropping an 88-46 decision at Northwestern Monday night despite having four players score in double figures. Senior guard Anthony Harris (Gary, Ind./Griffith (Ind.)) is producing a team-best scoring average of 14.7 points per game for the Cougars as well as tallying a team-leading seven blocked shots. Harris is also shooting 82 percent from the free throw line and 46 percent from the field. Another senior guard Rob Shaw (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) ranks second in scoring with 11.3 points per game in addition to leading the Western Athletic Conference in assists per game as he dishes out 5.9 helpers a game. Junior forward Christian Jacob (Gary, Ind./Westside) is the third CSU player scoring in double figures at 10.3 points per contest while leading the team in rebounds by grabbing an average of 5.8 per game.

SCOUTING WIU – Western Illinois brings a 4-8 record on the year into tomorrow's contest, but WIU suffered its fourth consecutive loss on Monday night via a 91-76 defeat at Northern Illinois with sophomore guard Kobe Webster scoring a season-high 26 points. Webster is averaging a team-best 18.3 points and 3.5 assists per game to lead three Leathernecks in double figure scoring. Sophomore forward Isaac Johnson is grabbing a team-high 6.3 rebounds per game while averaging 13.1 points a game, and junior guard C.J. Duff is producing 10.3 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY – Tomorrow's contest marks the 39th lifetime meeting between Chicago State and Western Illinois with WIU leading the series by a 24-14 margin which included playing against each other for 12 years as members of the Mid-Continent Conference. The Cougars have won the last two meetings with the Leathernecks, including an 83-76 overtime win in Macomb on Dec. 3, 2016.

REED MAKES CSU DEBUT – Redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Reed (Bolingbrook, Ill./Plainfield East) made his CSU début Monday night at Northwestern. Reed, a six-foot guard from Bolingbrook, Ill., sat out a year to fulfill NCAA transfer residency requirements after transferring from NCAA Division II Lewis in Dec. 2017.

BALANCE AND OPTIONS – The Green and White have produced five games this season where at least four players scored in double figures that include a season-best five double figure scorers on Dec. 1 against Eastern Illinois.
 
START 'EM UP – Shaw and Harris are the only Cougars that have started every game this season.
