OPENING TIP – Following a successful homestand, the Chicago State men's basketball team opens a five-game road swing Wednesday night with a trip downtown to Wintrust Arena for an inter-city battle against host DePaul live on Fox Sports 1 that begins at 7 p.m.

SCOUTING CSU – Chicago State, on a three-game winning streak for the first time since 2013, heads into Wednesday's game sporting a season record of 3-8 following a tightly contested 84-82 victory over Trinity Christian College last Thursday to close its three-game homestand at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center. Senior guard Anthony Harris (Gary, Ind./Griffith (Ind.)), who produced a career-high 27 points against TCC, leads the Green and White with a scoring average of 15.6 points per game and six blocked shots as well as shooting 82 percent at the free throw line and 50 percent from the field. Fellow senior guard Rob Shaw (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) leads the Western Athletic Conference in assists per game (5.9) and ranks second on the team in scoring at 11.7 points a game. Junior forward Christian Jacob (Gary, Ind./Westside) is averaging 10.8 points and a team-leading 5.8 rebounds a game in addition to shooting a team-high .506 field-goal percentage.

SCOUTING DPU – DePaul heads into the week with a record of 5-2 this season after having its two-game win streak snapped last Saturday at Northwestern, but also holds a five-game winning streak this season at Wintrust Arena. The Blue Demons have three players producing double figure scoring averages with senior guard Max Strus averaging a team-leading 17 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Senior guard Eli Cain ranks second in scoring at 13.6 points a game and is dishing out a team-best 4.9 assists per contest, and senior forward Femi Olujobi rounds out the group by averaging 12.3 points a game.

SERIES HISTORY – DePaul has produced a 15-0 advantage in the all-time series with Chicago State as Wednesday's game will serve as the first meeting between the two teams in two years. The Blue Demons posted a 109-61 victory in a campus game of the 2016 Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 17, 2016 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill.
 
HARRIS SCORES NEW CAREER HIGH – Harris produced a new career scoring high last Thursday against Trinity Christian College as he tallied 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. He tied his previous career high of 20 points at East Tennessee State on Nov. 19.
 
CLOSING ON A MILESTONE – Heading into Wednesday's game, Shaw has tallied 471 points in 88 games for his collegiate career. He needs to 29 points to post his 500th career point and 12 more games shy of earn the milestone of playing 100 career games.
