Harris, Shaw Post Career Scoring Highs for CSU at East Tennessee State

Anthony Harris tied a career high with 20 points at East Tennessee State tonight

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Seniors Anthony Harris (Gary, Ind./Griffith (Ind.)) and Rob Shaw (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) posted career scoring highs to lead visiting Chicago State as it fell to host East Tennessee State tonight at Freedom Hall Civic Center by a score of 86-61 in the second game of the Grand Cayman Islands Classic Mainland Tournament.

Harris equaled his career high with a game-high 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting while producing four rebounds, three steals and two assists. Shaw shot 8-of-13 from the field to tally a career-best 18 points and tied a season high with six assists.

Shaw gave the visitors a 2-0 lead just 32 seconds into the game with a jumper before the Buccaneers used a 21-7 run over a near 10-minute span to take a 21-9 advantage with 9:53 left in the half. The Green and White regrouped with an 19-6 scoring run that lasted nine minutes and reclaimed the lead at 28-27 heading into halftime.

ETSU rebounded in the second half by outscoring Chicago State by a 59-33 margin to capture the win.

Junior Christian Jacob (Gary, Ind./Westside) added nine points and sophomore Travon Bell (Chicago, Ill./Mather) finished with eight points for CSU.

Jeromy Rodriguez posted a double-double of 18 points and a game-leading 12 rebounds to lead four Bucs in double figures.

Chicago State closes the tournament against Jackson State tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m.
