Trayvon Palmer Inks Deal with Worcester Wolves

CHICAGO – Former Chicago State University men's basketball student-athlete Trayvon Palmer (Milwaukee, Wis./Brown Deer) has inked a deal to play for the Worcester Wolves of the British Basketball League.

The 6-foot-6 Palmer posted averages of 15.1 points and a team-leading 9.4 rebounds per game last season while posting 14 double-doubles. He also earned Academic All-WAC and CSU Scholar-Athlete honors for the third consecutive year in addition to being named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court in July.

Palmer, who received CSU's Student-Athlete of the Year in April, graduated from Chicago State this past May with a degree in management after playing three seasons for the Green and White.

"I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to join Wolves to begin my professional career," Palmer said in a team press release. "I want to thank the club for affording me this opportunity and can't wait for the season to begin. It is my goal to do whatever it takes to help Wolves compete for a championship."

The Wolves finished with a 20-13 record during the 2016-17 season to finish fifth in the BBL standings before qualifying for the league playoffs and advanced to the semifinals then fell to the Newcastle Eagles in a tight three-game series.

Palmer will join the Wolves next month for the British Basketball All-Stars Championship which will take place at the O2 Arena in London on Sept. 24.
