OPENING TIP: Chicago State men's basketball concludes its non-conference slate this Saturday afternoon live on the CSU Radio Network and ESPN 3 from Kalamazoo, Mich., when it takes on host Western Michigan at University Arena beginning at 3:30 p.m.

SCOUTING CSU: Sporting a 2-14 season record, the Green and White aim to close their non-conference schedule and road swing on a good note following Wednesday's 82-70 defeat at Wisconsin with senior forward/center Deionte Simmons (Detroit, Mich./Lewisville (Texas)) tallying a career-best 19 points in leading three Cougars in double figures. CSU is led on the offensive end by junior guard Fred Sims, Jr. (Chicago, Ill./North Lawndale) as he is averaging 14.2 points per game while connecting on 87 percent (40-of-46) of his chances from the free throw line. Simmons is recording team highs of 5.4 rebounds a game and shooting 60 percent (61-of-101) from the field in addition to scoring 10.4 points per game. Senior guard Glen Burns (West Memphis, Ark./West Memphis Christian) is dishing out a team-leading 3.8 assists per game and is third on the team in scoring at 8.5 points per game.

SCOUTING WMU: Winners of three of its last four contests since Dec. 6, Western Michigan heads into Saturday with a 7-5 record on the year and is playing for the first time in eight days after posting a 66-63 comeback victory at Milwaukee on Dec. 22. Wilder is also shooting 80 percent from the free throw line, 47 percent from the field and 37 percent from downtown. Junior guard/forward Josh Davis leads WMU in rebounds with an average of 7.8 per game followed by senior center Drake Lamont posting a team-high 1.3 blocked shots a game.

SERIES HISTORY: Chicago State and Western Michigan will meet for only the sixth time on Saturday, but it took 20 years for this latest contest to come to fruition. The Broncos holds a 5-0 advantage in the all-time series which includes a 3-0 mark in Kalamazoo. WMU was victorious in the teams' last meeting on Dec. 3, 1997 by a score of 106-62.

TAE'S ON A TEAR: Simmons has been very efficient over the Cougars' last five games as he has shot 63 percent (22-of-35) from the field and 78 percent (7-of-9) from the free throw line while averaging 12.8 points and six rebounds a game.
