Box Score MILWAUKEE – Junior Fred Sims, Jr. scored a team-high 20 points to lead three Chicago State men's basketball players in double figures as the visiting Cougars fell to host Marquette by a score of 95-69 tonight at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

CSU posted an early 6-4 lead on a three-pointer from senior Montana Byrd at the 18:23 mark of the first half before the Golden Eagles went on a 20-8 scoring drive in seven minutes to gain a 24-14 advantage with 11:16 remaining in the stanza. Junior Fred Sims, Jr. then scored 16 points in helping the Cougars tally 26 of the next 50 points in the remaining 11 minutes to close within 48-40 at the half.

The Golden Eagles used a 23-11 scoring drive in a near nine-minute span to open the second half in gaining their biggest lead of the half at 71-49 with 11:01 left in the game. MU then closed out the game by scoring 24 of the final 44 points for the final margin.

In addition to Sims, senior Deionte Simmons nearly posted a double-double as he finished with 11 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, and senior Glen Burns contributed 11 points on the night.

Markus Howard recorded a game-high 33 points to lead four Marquette players that scored in double figures.

CSU returns to the friendly confines of the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center on Saturday with an in-state contest against Northern Illinois on the WAC Digital Network with the opening tip set for 2:05 p.m.
