Cougars Conclude Short Road Swing at Northern Iowa

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Chicago State men's basketball concluded their two-game road swing here earlier today as it fell to host Northern Iowa by a score of 82-44 at UNI's McLeod Center.
 
UNI opened the game with a 15-2 advantage in the opening five minutes of the game before going into intermission ahead by a 46-21 margin then finished the final 20 minutes with a 36-23 lead. CSU (1-4) produced a 27-23 margin in bench points while tying the Panthers in steals with both teams recording six thefts.
 
The Green and White were led by redshirt freshman Travon Bell as he scored a season-best 12 points and added two steals. Senior Glen Burns added seven points and four rebounds, while redshirt senior Jelani Pruitt also contributed seven points.
 
Four players scored in double figures for Northern Iowa (3-1) with Bennett Koch tallying a game-high 21 points by shooting 7-of-9 from the field and hit all seven of his free throw attempts.
 
The Cougars are back in action on Tuesday night as they welcome East-West to the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center in a live broadcast on the WAC Digital Network beginning at 7:05 p.m.
