OPENING TIP: The Chicago State men's basketball team heads to Iowa for a second time this season as it closes out a two-game road swing on Saturday morning against Northern Iowa at McLeod Center in Cedar Falls. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN 3 with a start time of 11 a.m.

SCOUTING CSU: CSU brings a 1-3 record into Saturday's contest in Cedar Falls after dropping a 105-66 decision last night at No. 13 Notre Dame despite having three players produce double-digit scoring in junior guard Fred Sims, Jr. [19 points], redshirt senior forward Jelani Pruitt [16 points] and senior forward/center Deionte Simmons [13 points]. Sims, Jr. is averaging 14.3 points and 4.0 rebound per game to lead the team on the young season. Pruitt is also grabbing an average of 4.0 rebounds a game to tie with Sims for the team while scoring 8.5 points per game. Junior guard Rob Shaw leads the Green and White in assists with an average of four per game, while Harris is tops in steals at 2.8 per game.

SCOUTING UNI: Northern Iowa has produced a 2-1 season record after defeating NCAA Division III Wartburg College on Wednesday by a score of 72-43 in the second game of its current three-game homestand with senior forward Bennett Koch scoring a career-best 25 points. Koch leads four Panthers in double figures with an average of 15.7 points a game and also leads the team with 8.3 rebounds per contest. Koch has also connected on 68 percent of his field-goal attempts and is shooting 76 percent from the foul line. Freshman guard Tywhon Pickford ranks first on the team in rebounding at 8.7 boards a game and is averaging 10 points a game.

SERIES HISTORY: Chicago State and Northern Iowa will meet on the hardwood for the ninth time with the Panthers holding a 7-1 advantage, but this is the first meeting between the two schools in nine seasons. UNI won the last battle in Cedar Falls on Nov. 25, 2008 with by a score of 81-70 in the McLeod Center.

GUNNING FOR A GRAND: Sims, Jr. is looking to become the 14th member of CSU's prestigious 1,000-point club as he enters the UNI game with 980 career points and is 20 points away from setting that mark.
