OPENING TIP: It's Homecoming Week at Chicago State University!!! The CSU men's basketball team opens its home schedule on Tuesday night at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center against Silver Lake College out of Wisconsin with the tip-off slated for 7:05 p.m. The SLC contest will be broadcast live on the WAC Digital Network with Julio Rausseo providing the play-by-play call.

SCOUTING CSU: Chicago State makes its home debut sporting a 0-2 season record after closing its season-opening weekend road swing on Sunday following a 111-42 defeat at 20th-ranked Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind. The Green and White are led by junior guard Fred Sims, Jr. as he is averaging 10 points a game, while junior guard Rob Shaw is producing team high averages of 3.5 assists and two steals per game to go along with scoring seven points a game. Redshirt senior forward Jelani Pruitt and sophomore forward/center Patrick Szpir are tied for top rebounding honors with each player averaging 3.5 boards per game.

SCOUTING SLC: Silver Lake comes to the Windy City sporting a season record of 1-4 after snapping a four-game losing streak last Saturday with an 85-77 home victory over Wisconsin-Manitowoc with five players scoring in double figures, led by 15 points from freshman guard Dreshawn Dorsey and junior forward David Hughes. Dorsey leads the Lakers with averages of 13 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in addition to shooting 43 percent from the field. Junior guard Corey Lloyd rank second on the team in scoring at seven points a game and senior guard Freddy Cook is dishing out a team-leading 3.4 assists per game.

SERIES HISTORY: This will be the first-ever meeting between Chicago State and Silver Lake on the hardwood.

TOPS FROM THE LINE: Senior guard Glen Burns is one of 10 players tied for the best free throw percentage in the current Western Athletic Conference rankings as he has connected on all five of his attempts from the line.

UP NEXT: The Cougars return to Indiana this Thursday night as they travel to Notre Dame for a battle at Purcell Pavilion in a live broadcast on ACC Network Extra via ESPN 3 with the start time set for 6 p.m.
