The game was the first contest of the 2017 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament for both teams.

CSU opened the game with an early 2-0 lead at the 18:43 mark thanks to a jumper from senior Glen Burns before the host team went on a 20-2 scoring run in over four minutes to capture the lead that it would not relinquish.

Burns and fellow senior Deionte Simmons led the Green and White in scoring with seven points apiece, while redshirt senior Jelani Pruitt added six points and four rebounds off the bench.

Carsen Edwards tallied a game-high 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field to lead the Boilermakers.
