CSU Men Has Three Players Score in Double Figures at DePaul

Fred Sims, Jr. led three CSU players in double figures today at DePaul with 19 points.

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Three players scored in double figures for the Chicago State men's basketball team as it began play in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic here today with a 109-61 defeat to city foe DePaul at Allstate Arena.
 
Sophomore Fred Sims, Jr. (Chicago, Ill./North Lawndale) led the Cougars (3-8) with 19 points, while senior Clemmye Owens V (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers) recorded 14 points and tied a season high by dishing out four assists. Senior Trayvon Palmer (Milwaukee, Wis./Brown Deer) fell short of posting another double-double as he tallied 10 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
 
DePaul (6-4), who also had three players that scored in double figures, were led by Eli Cain as he recorded a game-high 31 points.
 
CSU travels to Springfield, Mo., on Monday night with the second game of the Las Vegas Classic against host Missouri State at the JHQ Arena with the opening tip set for 8:35 p.m.
