Three CSU Players Score Double Digits to End Road Swing at Oakland

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Chicago State men's basketball had three players score in double figures here this afternoon against host Oakland in the Blacktop at the O'Rena to conclude a short two-game road swing as the Golden Grizzlies cruised to a 107-79 victory.

CSU (1-2) was led by sophomore Fred Sims, Jr. (Chicago, Ill./North Lawndale) as he produced a team-leading 17 points on 8-for-15 shooting from the field. Senior Clemmye Owens V (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers) added 15 points while shooting 5-for-10 and dishing out three assists.

Junior Deionte Simmons (Detroit, Mich./Lewisville (Texas)) also recorded 15 points to go along with grabbing a team-high nine rebounds and posted two steals, while graduate student Brian Greene, Jr. (Chicago, Ill./Thornton) finished with nine points, five rebounds and two steals.

Oakland (4-0) had four players tally double-digit points with Martez Walker producing a game-high 24 points.

The Green and White make a return to the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center on Tuesday, Nov. 22 to take on East-West University with the opening tip slated for 7 p.m.
