Kieran Woods led four CSU players in double figures with 13 points Saturday at New Mexico State

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Chicago State men's basketball closed out its Western Athletic Conference weekend slate here Saturday night after falling to defending conference champion New Mexico State by a score of 80-62 at the Pan American Center.

The Cougars (4-16, 0-4) had four players score in double figures for the contest with senior Kieran Woods (Chicago, Ill./Crane) leading the way with 13 points. Junior Elliott Cole (Chicago, Ill./Powerhouse) and freshman Fred Sims, Jr. (Chicago, Ill./North Lawndale) each scored 12 points, and junior Trayvon Palmer (Milwaukee, Wis./Brown Deer) finished with 11 points and seven rebounds with six boards coming on the offensive side.

Junior Jordan Madrid-Andrews (Denver, Colo./Bishop Machebeauf) grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds and redshirt sophomore Clemmye Owens V (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers) posted a game-high three steals which also served as a season high total.

Pascal Siakam, the nation's leader in double-doubles, recorded game high totals of 21 points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots to lead four players in double figures for NM State (11-8, 3-1).

The Green and White open a three-game homestand on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center when they face Green Bay in their non-conference finale on the WAC Digital Network beginning at 7:05 p.m.
