Men’s Cross Country Opens 2015 Season with Flyer/Flames Invite

Chicago State men's cross country opened the 2015 season Saturday at the Flyer/Flames Invitational
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Chicago State men's cross country team began its 2015 season here Saturday morning by finishing sixth at the Flyer/Flames Invitational, held at Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill. Also competing in the meet with CSU were UIC, Lewis, Green Bay, Milwaukee and Wisconsin-Parkside.
 
The Green and White were paced in the 6K individual race by junior DiJon Smith (Gary, Ind./Gary West Side), who finished 15th after crossing the finish line with a time of 20:13.6.
 
Sophomore Andrew Huff (Gary, Ind./Gary Calumet) placed 30th with a time of 21:30.5, while junior Eric Diaz (Chicago, Ill./Curie) finished 47th at a time of 22:16.7. Freshman Adrian Chavez (Highland, Ind./Highland), junior Charles Blackhawk (Gary, Ind./Westside) and sophomore Desmond Meyer (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) also competed for the Cougars in the meet.
 
CSU is back in action on Friday as it heads to downstate Peoria for the Bradley Intercollegiate beginning at 5:30 p.m.
