CSU Women’s Golf Finishes Fifth at PGA Minority Championships

Sophomore Tali Letoi posted a three-day score of 242 at the PGA Minority Championships this weekend
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – The Chicago State University women's golf team finished up its 2014-15 slate on Sunday as it earned a fifth-place finish at the 29th annual PGA Minority Championships in the Ryder Course at the PGA Golf Club.

CSU tallied a 54-hole score of 959 (317-320-322), while Bethune-Cookman finished the tournament with an 879 (295-294-290) to capture its fourth straight title.

The Cougars were led by sophomore Fernanda Valdes Solis (Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico/Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey), who shot a 73 in the final round and finished with a score of 225. Fellow sophomore Tali Letoi (Lakeside, Calif./El Capitan) produced a three-day score of 242 that included an 85.

Junior Taneka Sandiford (Nassau, Bahamas/St. John's College High School) recorded a score of 243 and closed out the tournament by shooting a 79, while freshman Pia Serrano (San Antonio, Texas/Antonian College Preparatory) posted a 250 (82-82-86) and fellow freshman TiAnna Ford (Roy, Wash./Yelm) finished with a 278 (86-107-85).
