Chicago State Completes Opening Day at the 2026 National Women’s Collegiate Golf Championship

KATY, Texas - The Chicago State women's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Women In Golf Foundation, Inc. 2026 National Women's Collegiate Golf Championship on Tuesday at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch. The Cougars posted rounds of 314 and 322 for a total of 636, placing them seventh in the Division I standings after Day One.

The Cougars were led by Almudena Aguera, who opened with a 75 (+4) before adding an 83 in Round 2.

Begona Perez delivered the team's low Round 2 score with a 75, improving on her Round 1 80 (+9).

Aarushi Bahnot turned in rounds of 79 (+8) and 81. Hannah Butzer posted matching 80 (+9) in Round 1 and 83 in Round 2.

Both rounds were played from the WIGF tees at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch, a layout that challenged players with demanding approach shots and firm greens. Despite the difficulty,

Chicago State showed consistency across the lineup and improved stretches throughout the second round.

The Cougars return to action Wednesday for Round 3, aiming to build on their opening-day performance and make a push up the leaderboard as championship play continues.
