Chicago State Women’s Golf Finishes Seventh at National Women’s Collegiate Golf Championship

KATY, Texas (April 1, 2026) — The Chicago State women's golf team concluded play at the Women In Golf Foundation, Inc. 2026 National Women's Collegiate Golf Championship on Wednesday at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch, finishing seventh out of eight Division I programs with a three-round total of 962 (Round 1: 314 |Round 2: 322 |Round 3: 326).
The Cougars competed in a strong Division I field led by Howard University, which secured the team title. Southern University and Jackson State University rounded out the top three.
 
Individual Results
Begona Perez posted rounds of 80, 75 and 83. Hannah Butzer recorded scores of 80, 83 and 78 leading the Cougars on the final day. Aarushi Bahnot turned in rounds of 79, 81 and 82. Almudena Aguera led the Cougars on Day One with a 75, followed by rounds of 83 and 83.
 
All three rounds were played on the WIGF tees at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch, a layout that challenged players with tight landing areas, firm greens, and demanding approach shots. Chicago State showed resilience throughout the 54-hole event, maintaining steady scoring across the lineup.

Chicago State will now turn its attention to the NEC Conference Women's Golf Championship, held April 16–19 at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, Maryland.
