Cougars Shoot 313 in Final Round of IPFW Spring Classic

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The rain held off for the final round of the IPFW Spring Classic as the Chicago State women's golf team finished eighth with a team score of 313 (651).
 
Hosted by IPFW at the Pine Valley Country Club, the course was played at 6,011 yards. Indianapolis took home the team title shooting a score of 600 and Aislynn Merling of Youngstown State captured individual medalist honors with a 6-over-par 148.
 
For the Cougars, Casey MacNeil (Massey, Ontario/Espanola) fired a 78 to lead the team with a two-day score of 162 to finish in a tie for 29th place. Fernanda Valdes Solis (Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico/Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey) carded a 76 with a tournament total of 163, finishing in a tie for 32nd. Pia Serrano (San Antonio, Texas/Antonian College Preparatory) shot another 82 to finish with a 164  total score to place 34th, and Tali Letoi (Lakeside, Calif./El Capitan) scored a 77 on today's round to finish the tournament with a score of 165. Taneka Sandiford (Nassau, Bahamas/St. John's College High School) rounded out the team score with an 83 today and ended with a score of 168.

TiAnna Ford (Roy, Wash./Yelm) fired an 87, which is her best college round to date.


The Cougars have one more regular season tournament next weekend at Indiana State on 
April 12-13.
