Cougars end the regular season with lost vs New Mexico State

Box Score Las Cruces, NM-  Chicago State ( 8-23. 4-10 WAC) ended their regular season with a 61- 57 lost to New Mexico State (21-10, 13-1 WAC) as the Aggies claim the Western Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship. 

The Cougars were led by Clarke Rosenberg (Skokie, Ill./Evanston Township)'s 21 points with four assists, while Trayvon Palmer (Milwaukee, WI/Brown Deer) and Jawad Adekoya (Tinley Park, IL/Victor J. Andrew High School) each posted 15 points.

The Aggies took a 8 to 2 lead in the first couple mintues of the game and never looked back.  The Aggies had a 37 to 27 lead heading into the locker room after the first half.  The Cougars in the first half was led by Rosenberg's 10 points and three assist.. The Aggies were led by Nephawe, Tshilidzi with 8 points and four rebounds. 

The Cougars made a hard drive in the second half, as they outscored the Aggies 30 to 24 but came up short as the Aggies held the Cougars to just 39 percent shooting from the floor in the game, while hitting 50 percent (22-of-44) themselves in the game.  The Aggies out rebounded the Cougars 36-23.

The Cougars will be traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada to play againist Seattle University in the first round of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament March 12th-14th.
