Chicago State Win Over Southeast Missouri State 5-2

HOMEWOOD, Ill. - Southeast Missouri (0-7) secured the doubles point but only picked up one singles victory in a 5-2 loss to the Chicago State Cougars (2-7) Saturday morning at the Homewood Fitness Center.

Hanna Pangestu (Jakarta, Indonesia) won 6-2, 6-3 against Katie Stoianova at No.1 singles. Carynne Lloyd (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) defeated Mariya Kostyuk 6-1, 6-3. Marnie Perez-Ochoa (Louisville, Ky./Male) cruised over Anna Makhneva 6-0, 6-0. Faith Huckabee (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) beat Vivana Ortiz 6-0, 6-3 at No.4. Lorea Gamboa (Gamiz-Fika, Spain/Larramendi Ikastola) lost to Maria Montenegro 7-5, 6-1, at the No. 5 position. Matea Roki (Etobicoke, Ontario/Silverthorn Collegiate Institute) won her singles match 10-7 over Annisa Warasanti.

The Redhawks then won the doubles point. Mariya Kostyuk and Vivana Ortiz beat Faith Huckabee (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) and Gamboa, 8-2, at No. 1. Melissa Martin and Annisa Warasanti won the tiebreaker against Marnie Perez-Ochoa (Louisville, Ky./Male) and Carynne Lloyd (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing), 7-7, 1-0 (7-1).
