HTML BoxPerrysburg, Ohio - The Chicago State women's tennis team fell 7-0 to the Bowling Green Falcons on Saturday afternoon (April 5) at the Perrysburgh Tennis Center.
The Falcons began by taking two of the three doubles matches. Katie Brozovich and Drew Fillis beat sophomore
Carynne Lloyd (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) and freshman
Faith Huckabee (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) 8-3. Hannah Drayton and Harley Hutchinson were 8-1 winners over sophomores
Sabrine Navarro (Melbourne, Australia/) and
Gema Bolado Yusta (Madrid, Spain./IES Lázaro Cárdenas). At No.1 doubles, freshman
Kirsa Utech (Nindorf, Germany/Meldorfer Gelehrtenschule) and senior
Karyn Emeralda (Jakarta, Indonesia/) defeated Nikki Chiricosta and Emily Reuland 8-6.
Bowling Green took all of the singles matches in their victory. Huckabee took the first set, but fell 6-7, 6-0, 10-7 to Fillis. Chiricosta took down Utech 6-0, 6-3 while Reuland won 6-1, 6-0 over Lloyd. Sophomore
Marnie Perez-Ochoa (Louisville, Ky./Male) went down 6-1, 6-1 to Brozovich. Bolado Yusta succumbed to Hutchinson 6-2, 6-1 and Emily Plaszewski was victorious over Navarro 6-1, 6-2.

Javier Bernabe thought Emeralda and Huckabee stood out in the loss.
"Karyn (Emeralda) in doubles and Faith (Huckabee) in singles played well today," said the first-year assistant.
The Cougars fell to 5-15 on the year while Bowling Green improved to 8-6. CSU continues their road trip at Northern Kentucky tomorrow (April 6) with the match scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
