Karolina Skowronska Named NEC Prime Performer in Final Regular Season Weekly Awards

CHICAGO, Ill. - The NEC announced their final regular season women's tennis weekly awards for the last weekend of the regular season. Chicago State's Karolina Skowronska was named an NEC Prime Performer for the week of April 14 and will finsih the regular season with four Prime Performer honors, and two player of the week honors for her junior season.

The Cougars played a doubleheader last Wednesday against Kansas State followed by a Sunday evening match against Northwestern on the road in Evanston. Karolina Skowronska won singles number one against Sasha Kyselova of Kansas State April 8 winning by a score of 7-6, 5-7, 6-2 to score the Cougars lone point in the 1-4 loss to the Wildcats. Both of her doubles matches went unfinished against Kansas State and Northwestern over the weekend. 

Skowronska finished her regular season with a 12-13 overall record in singles play, with a 4-0 record in the NEC. She also finished 14-15 in doubles play. 

Karolina Skowronska and the Cougars are set to battle #2 Saint Francis University in the quarterfinal round of the NEC Women's Tennis Conference Tournament on Thursday April 16 at 8:00 AM (CT).
