Preview: Chicago State Women's Tennis Ready for NEC Conference Tournament

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - The Chicago State Women's Tennis team is set to compete in the 2026 NEC Conference Women's Tennis Tournament, taking place from April 16 to April 18 at the Mercer County Tennis Courts in West Windsor, New Jersey. The Cougars, entering as the 7th seed, are eager to showcase their skills against a strong lineup of competitors, including top-seeded FDU, Saint Francis, and LIU.

A key player to watch is Junior Karolina Skowronska, who has been a standout performer for the Cougars this season. Skowronska leads the team with a 12-13 overall record in singles play and has maintained an impressive 4-0 record in NEC matches. Skowronska has also had a good season inĀ doubles play as well, where she and partner Mackenzie King have achieved an 11-7 record, including a 4-3 performance in the doubles number one category. In singles competition, Camila Sanchez has been a consistent presence for the team, competing in the singles number two category. Her contribution will be crucial as the Cougars aim to make a significant impact in the tournament.

"We're very excited to begin NEC Conference Tournament play this Thursday. Coming in as the 7th seed, we've got nothing to lose. Overall, we've had a long season, playing a lot of tough matches, so I'm proud of the adversity our team has faced so far. I know we will continue to fight hard and give these matches everything we've got."
