Chicago State Women’s Tennis Rounds Out 2013-14 Roster

CHICAGO – Chicago State women's tennis head coach Jack Barton has made three additions to the 2013-14 roster. Kirsa Utech (Nindorf, Germany/Meldorfer Gelehrtenschule) (Nindorf, Germany/Meldorfer Gelehrtenschule), Hanna Pangestu (Jakarta, Indonesia/) (Jakarta, Indonesia) and Gema Bolado-Yusta (Madrid, Spain/Kansas State/IES Lázaro Cárdenas) have joined the Cougars. The trio joins early signee Faith Huckabee (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) as Barton's four-member incoming class.
 
Utech played for Copenhagen in the North League in 2012. She finished as a semifinalist at the national Sparda-Bank-Cup Flensburg Ladies tournament. She also earned victories in the ITF tournaments in Hamburg and Den Haag. In 2011 she earned a victory at the Rosenbokal Uetersen Ladies tournament. She also earned a top 100 victory in 2011.
 
Pangestu ranked as high as No. 1 in Indonesia in 16's girls rankings and No. 4 in girls 18's rankings. She also ranked No. 3 in doubles.  Pangestu ranked No. 9 in December 2011 in the senior national rankings. She finished fourth at the ATF 2011 National Under 16 Championships. She is a four-time winner in singles and doubles at the Remaja Tennis Open in girls 18's. She finished runner up in singles at the Widjojo Soejono Open in girls 18's in 2011. She spent the last two years attending the John Newcombe Tennis Academy where she participated in several tournaments. She was a semifinalist at the Houston MCCTA Tournament in November 2012. She was also a singles semifinalist and a doubles champion at the San Antonio Fiesta Adult and Junior Open 2013.
 
Bolado-Yusta played in four matches last season at Kansas State. She will come to Chicago State with sophomore eligibility. In high school she helped her team to the league championship. Bolado-Yusta also competed in soccer and track and field in high school.
 
Chicago State opens the 2013 fall campaign with the Cougar Invitational on Chicago State's campus on Sept. 13-15.
