Cougars Wrangle Rangers 90-81

CHICAGO
– Four Cougars finished in double-digits to lift Chicago State men's basketball to a 90-81 victory over UW-Parkside on Saturday (Dec. 7) at the Jones Convocation Center.
 
The Cougars were led by a career-high 19 points from senior Corey Gray (Houston, Texas/Hightower). He finished a perfect 5-of-5 from beyond the arc. Senior Nate Duhon (Lansing, Mich./Sexton) added a season-high 18 points, finishing 7-of-10 from the floor. Junior Clarke Rosenberg (Skokie, Ill./Evanston Township) also had 18 points while adding five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Senior Eddie Denard (Chicago, Ill./Foreman) was the fourth Cougar in double-digits with 11 points.
 
They helped Chicago State finish with a season-high 90 points on a season-high 61.8 percent field goal percentage (34-of-55). Chicago State's 34 field goals are the most since the Cougars recorded 38 at DePaul on Dec. 10, 2011.
 
The Cougars never trailed over the final 30 minutes of the contest. Chicago State took control of the game thanks to a 12-0 run in the first half. Gray added eight points in the stretch. The Rangers never got closer than seven points the rest of the game.
 
Andy Mazurczak recorded a game-high 22 points for the Rangers.
 
Chicago State moves to 4-5 with the victory. The game counted as an exhibition for the Rangers. The Cougars take a week off for finals before returning to the court on Sunday, Dec. 15 at DePaul. The game will be aired live on FOX Sports 1.
