CINCINNATI – Senior Quinton Pippen (Hamburg, Ark./Hamburg) scored 20 points in Chicago State men's basketball's 102-62 loss at Cincinnati on Monday (Dec. 23) evening at Fifth Third Arena.

Pippen finished with five 3-pointers. His effort moved him into ninth all-time in career 3-pointers at Chicago State with 95. He passed Christian Wall's (2007-11) 91 and Craig Franklin's (2002-05) 92 to earn the ninth spot.

Chicago State trailed Cincinnati 35-27 with 6:25 left in the first half but recorded just one basket the rest of the frame to watch the Bearcats pull away. Cincinnati went on a 13-2 run during this time to take a 48-29 lead to the break. Cincinnati drained eight of their 12 3-pointers in the first half to help take the double-digit lead despite the Cougars limiting the Bearcats to 36.6 percent shooting in the first half.

The Bearcats extended their lead in the second thanks to a 33-3 edge on the offensive glass for the game. The advantage helped Cincinnati blank the Cougars 29-0 in second chance points.

"Cincinnati is a long, very athletic high level Division I team and they played like it tonight," Chicago State head coach Tracy Dildy said. "We're going to give our guys some time to regroup for the holiday and get ready for Creighton and then conference play."

Pippen also added four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal to his stat line. Junior Clarke Rosenberg (Skokie, Ill./Evanston Township) added 17 points for the Cougars. Sean Kilpatrick picked up a game-high 21 points for Cincinnati. He was one of six Bearcats in double-figures.

The Cougars fall to 5-7 with the setback. Cincinnati is now 10-2. Chicago State returns to action next Sunday in a non-conference game at Creighton. Tip is set for 4:00 p.m. CT. The game will be aired live on FOX Sports 1 and WVON 1690 AM.
