KENT, Ohio – Kent State men's basketball defeated Chicago State 92-63 on Friday (Nov. 16) evening at the M.A.C Center in the first ever meeting between the two schools. The contest was part of the Joe Cipriano Nebraska Classic.

Nate Duhon (Lansing, Mich./Sexton) (Lansing, Mich./Sexton/Lansing CC) scored 13 points. Junior
Clarke Rosenberg (Skokie, Ill./Evanston Township) (Skokie, Ill./Evanston Township) scored 10 points in a reserve role.
The game changed in the second half when the Golden Flashes were able to extend their 42-32 halftime advantage. Kent State shot 57.4 percent (35-of-61) from the floor in the contest. Chicago State shot 42.0 percent (21-of-50). The Golden Flashes forced 20 Chicago State turnovers while committing just six.
“Kent was coming off a game they thought they should have won so they were a hungry team firing on all cylinders tonight,” Chicago State head coach
Tracy Dildy said. “We had 20 turnovers and we are still fouling way too much so you combine all of those things and it is a recipe for disaster. It's hard to win ball games like that.”
Kent State improves to 2-1. Chicago State falls to 1-2. The Cougars travel to Tulane on Sunday (Nov. 18) for a 1 p.m. CT start. It will be the second game for the Cougars in the Joe Cipriano Nebraska Classic.
